"Resolve to be tender
with the young, compassionate
with the aged, sympathetic
with the striving, and tolerant
with the weak and the wrong.
Sometimes in your life
you will have been all of these."

Individual Therapy

Susan believes that all of us are entitled to feel healthy and happy in our daily lives, and is committed to helping her clients achieve this goal. In her experience, a range of factors may create difficulties for individuals in their relationships with themselves, others or their environment.

Who it's for:

For women and men dealing with:

  • Family-of-origin issues
  • Childhood or recent trauma
  • Depression
  • Loss
  • Addiction

How Susan can help:

Susan works from the perspective of the individual's relationships, concentrating on what is happening for the client in his or her current life, and focusing on individual strengths and personal style to bring about desired change.

The techniques she may use in individual therapy include: relational therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and family systems therapy.

As appropriate, Susan collaborates with physicians and psychiatrists to provide her clients with a 'team approach' to their therapy.

Desired outcome:

The aim is for clients to achieve internal and interpersonal growth, leading to happier and healthier relationships with themselves, with others and with their environment.
